TRIVIA:

K.I.T.T.'s ability to drive on water was scrapped after this episode due to financial contraints -- it involved fixing the car to a submerged platform on the water. This was only used for the shots of Michael inside the car -- all exterior shots were achieved using miniatures.

The next time K.I.T.T. would ride the waves would be in the reunion movie KNIGHT RIDER 2000.

Anne Lockhart previously appeared in the episode GOOD DAY AT WHITE ROCK. Guy Stockwell appeared in the episode KNIGHT MOVES. Ken Scott would go on to appear in the third season story KNIGHT IN DISGRACE.

SCRIPT TO SCREEN:

This was the first script written and produced for the second year. It introduces us to new regular April Curtis, but fails to describe her in any way.

Manley was originally described as a younger man who grew up with Bobby and Jennifer. She tries to talk him round after being kidnapped, but his greed is too great to help her.

The script states that Sloate was "rumored to have killed some Indians in Baja...tracking down the Nacinda legend."

Cadiz is described as "About thirty feet wide, [and] has sheer granite walls. The candles, and the pictures of the Beatles and other 60s personalities give it a hippy touch."
