TRIVIA:

Guest actor Beau Starr on Ring of Fire: "I went in to audition for [Knight Rider] along with another guy. We started with about ten lines total but most of them were cut by the time we began shooting. We were supposed to be doing Cajun accents. The actor I was with could do the accent but not me, so I tried a French accent. I ended up sounding more like Maurice Chevalier but nobody in the room knew any different so they hired me," he laughed. (TV Zone Special #30, 1998)

Actor George Murdock also appears in the two-hour special MOUTH OF THE SNAKE and the TEAM KNIGHT RIDER episode The A List. Dick Durock also appears in VOO DOO KNIGHT.

This episode introduces K.I.T.T.'s pyroclastic lamination, a heat-resistant coating on his outer shell that keeps him "cool as a cucumber in temperatures up to 600 degrees."

SCRIPT TO SCREEN:

A scene where Layla visits Minister Baylor, praying that Michael will come to her rescue failed to make the episode.

A small scene in which Michael and Layla stop for supplies at the poachers' shack doesn't make the episode. Other cuts include two montages that show Michael and K.I.T.T. venturing deeper into the bayou, and a Turbo Boost over a fallen tree.
