TRIVIA:

A classic episode, notable for the excellent set-pieces and Michael and K.I.T.T.'s interaction with Mighty Mouth, the talking teddy bear.

John Vernon also appears in the fourth season (and last ever) episode VOO DOO KNIGHT, while Robert O'Reilly appears in KITTNAP. Rosalind Ingledew also appears in the episode KNIGHT BEHIND BARS.

Robert O'Reilly is better known to viewers today as a Klingon in various Star Trek series. He and John Vernon previously worked together as master criminal and henchman on an episode of TJ Hooker entitled Matter of Passion.

SCRIPT TO SCREEN:

When Michael first visits Gina's apartment, she greets him with a glove puppet. This scene at the door is omitted in the episode, although she is still seen to be wearing the puppet as he enters. When he visits her a second time, he asks "No puppets this time?"

On the phone to Michael in Gina's apartment, Zachary originally confronted him with details of Michael Long's life in order to make him comply. His uncle lived at 410 Chesapeake Road, while his niece attended the Burnley school; his old police sergeant was named Charlie Hart. None of this information makes it to the episode, leaving him with no ties to his former life.

The climax originally began in the Triple-M Toy Factory, and a chase took Michael, K.I.T.T. and Gina to Zachary's apartment.

In the early drafts, Michael and K.I.T.T. kept Mighty Mouth, who was originally named Talking Teddy, and subsequently Big Mouth Bear. In the first draft, Cameron Zachary was named Max Mendelsson.
