SYNOPSIS:
Returning to Chicago, Michael and K.I.T.T. discover all is not well in RC3's old neighbourhood; a blockbusting operation is forcing a nightclub out of business, and the chief suspect is a friend of RC's from childhood. The new F.L.A.G. agent finds himself torn, and has to choose sides...

TRIVIA:
Michael and K.I.T.T. have a mission waiting in Detroit. They are three days late by the time this case is over.
The character G. Sanford is named after the third season producer Gerald Sanford.
Popular '80s group The New Edition feature as the Kids, part of the network's drive toward high profile guest stars in the fourth season that included Tom Sullivan (also in this episode); Don King, Kenneth Norton and a host of boxers (REDEMPTION OF A CHAMPION); Lance Burton (DEADLY KNIGHTSHADE); and Kathy Shower and a troupe of Playboy Playmates (KNIGHT OF A THOUSAND DEVILS).
Michael Masters previously appeared in the episodes THE FINAL VERDICT and KNIGHT STRIKE.
SCRIPT TO SCREEN:
The original ending of Knight Song had Michael and K.I.T.T. tuned-in to Charley Conners' live concert while parked outside the theater, after K.I.T.T. insisted they stay to listen.
Included with the teleplay are two scripted promotional scenes. The first features actor Tom Sullivan sitting in K.I.T.T. telling viewers to catch him "in Knight Rider, Friday! If you can!" before speeding away. The second was to showcase The New Edition who harmonise, while K.I.T.T. provides a drumroll.
